Ice Hockey in India is still a small sport but in the Himalayan regions of India, this is one of the main winter sports played by almost every child and teenager including women.

In the harsh terrains of Leh, Ladakh and Kargil the youth are exposed to this competitive Winter Olympic sport from childhood. The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) and Ice Hockey Association of India (IHAI) have been helping promote this sport and create opportunities for the youth of this region reach to the International level of competence. India has been participating in the Challenge Cup of Asia since 2009.

In 2016, for the very first time Indian Women's team participated in the IIHF Ice Hockey Challenge Cup of Asia 2016 ( Division 1) for Women held in Chinese Taipei from 22nd March to 26th March, 2016 and the Indian Goalie got best Goal Tender award for the Championship. Also, in IIHF Ice Hockey Challenge Cup of Asia 2016( Division 1) for Men in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan from 8th April to 14th April, 2016, the Indian Defenseman got the best Defenseman of the Championship award.

This year the Indian Women Team is participating in the 2017- IIHF Ice Hockey Challenge Cup Of Asia for Women at Thailand ( 7- 16 March' 17) and Men are participating in the 2017- IIHF Ice Hockey Challenge Cup Of Asia for Men (Div 1) at Kuwait ( 22-30 April' 17) .

We seek your support in funding the Training, Team Jersey, Team Track Suits, Coach fees, Airfare and Visa costs for the team. We have a team of 23 including officials travelling for the Women’s championship and a team of 26 travelling for the Men’s championship. Total out of pocket expense on the above heads is over and above Rs.50 Lakhs (for both the teams).

You can support both the teams or only the Women's or Men's team.

As per Government of India notification, Corporate can also provide financial support for Sports as part of their CSR initiative.

Your support will not only help and enable youth from modest backgrounds - especially the young women to get an opportunity to play represent India at the International level but also help us promote the sport.
